Do I Need Emergency HVAC Services in Indianapolis, IN?

When something goes wrong with your heating and cooling system, call on Armor Air for emergency services as soon as possible. Some signs that you’re in need of repair services right away include:

HVAC System is Short Cycling

Short cycling is a problem that many HVAC systems will face at some point throughout their life cycles. They can signal a clogged air filter, or even a problem with your thermostat. During short cycling, your HVAC system, whether it’s your heating or cooling, cannot reach the desired temperature in your home and continues to shut on or off, even after several minutes. An HVAC technician at Armor Air will be able to diagnose your system accurately and determine whether or not your short cycling is due to a clogged filter, a problem with your thermostat, or difficulty in utilizing your energy efficiently.

HVAC System Won’t Heat or Cool

If your HVAC system won’t heat or cool, this can be due to a number of reasons, such as a leak in your ductwork, a refrigerant leak, or also a problem with your thermostat. Nothing is worse than needing your air conditioner to cool your home, and instead experiencing hot air coming out of your system! When this happens, your home can not only be uncomfortable, but it can also be dangerous for you and your family. That’s why we’re here to offer emergency assistance when you need it.

Rising Energy Costs

If your energy bills continue to rise, this can be due to a number of issues, including the inability of your unit to use energy wisely, the end of your unit’s life cycle, or something else. For older units, you might also notice your energy bills continue to rise since older units are not designed with the best efficiency of today. If you’re noticing your energy bills rising despite using your HVAC system at the same levels, it’s time to contact us for emergency services.

Strange Sounds

It’s normal to hear a buzzing or low hum sound from your HVAC system. Unfortunately, it’s never a good thing to hear loud clanging or clashing sounds coming from within your unit. Whether this is from your indoor or outdoor unit, your furnace or any other appliance in your HVAC system, loud and strange noises indicate you need emergency services now. Call us so we can get to the root of the noises and provide you with expert advice to repair your system.

Mold and Mildew Smells

If you notice a smell coming from your unit that resembles mold, mildew, or a musty smell, this can be a sign that your HVAC system has been overtaken by mold or moisture. It can also mean that a small animal has damaged your unit. In either case, breathing in air from a unit that has experienced these types of issues can be dangerous for your family’s health. Don’t hesitate to contact us so we can resolve the smell.

Terry Walker
Our old furnace needed costly repair so we replaced our furnace with a higher efficiency Goodman at a reasonable price. A week later it started to make a strange clicking noise. We contacted Armor Air to come diagnose the problem. A very nice tech named Fred Sergent investigated the sound and couldn't pinpoint the cause of the clicking because of all the metal in the furnace. The sound would travel throughout the furnace. He stated he hasn't seen this problem before. We both agreed that it could be coming from the contacts in the control board. He ordered a new board to be installed the next day. The next day two technicians named Shaun Moore and Austin Mikesell returned to install the new board. This didn't fix the click. They both said they have never experienced this problem before, so they dove deep into the furnace testing every component. This took hours of their time. Every time they thought they found the problem, it would still would make the clicking sound. They thought they narrowed down the problem and ordered a part to be installed the next day. Bright and early they returned and installed the part, but unfortunately the clicking continued. This was a real head scratcher. They dove back in and took the side of the plenum off and found the problem. The home builders had installed a sheet metal box in the floor for the supply air which restricted some of the heated air from going into the duct work raising the static pressure forcing some of the air to move back up into the furnace overheating the heat exchanger and making it pop from expansion and contraction. They removed the box and this solved the problem. No one could have anticipated this problem. Their dedication in this effort went above and beyond. I highly recommend Armor Air for all your HVAC needs and I will continue to use them in the future. Thanks Armor Air!
