Understanding Common Heater Issues

When it comes to heater troubles, itโ€™s crucial to identify the root causes. Here are some of the most common issues that homeowners and business owners in Franklin might face:

  • Pilot lights wonโ€™t stay lit: This is a common problem with gas heaters. To fix it, simply relight the pilot light. If the pilot light still doesnโ€™t stay lit, there may be a problem with the gas supply or the thermocouple.
  • The heater is blowing cold air: This can be caused by a number of problems, such as a dirty filter, a clogged air duct, or a broken thermostat. A qualified HVAC technician can diagnose the problem and fix it quickly.
  • The heater is making strange sounds: This can be caused by a number of problems, such as a loose fan belt or a worn bearing. A qualified HVAC technician can diagnose the problem and fix it before it causes any serious damage to your heater.
  • The heater is not turning on: This can be caused by a variety of issues, from a tripped circuit breaker to a faulty motor. A professional HVAC technician will be able to diagnose and fix the issue so you can enjoy warmth in your home or business again.
  • The heater is constantly cycling on and off: This can be caused by a dirty air filter, a malfunctioning thermostat, or an improperly sized unit. A qualified technician can troubleshoot the issue and recommend the best solution for your specific needs.
  • Lack of maintenance: Regular maintenance is crucial for keeping your heater running smoothly and efficiently. Neglecting to schedule annual tune-ups can result in higher energy bills, frequent breakdowns, and even premature wear and tear on your unit.

Our Heater Repair Process

The heater repair process can vary depending on the specific problem with your heater, but it generally follows these steps:

  • Contact a qualified HVAC technician: If you are experiencing any problems with your heater, it is important to contact a qualified HVAC technician right away. They will be able to diagnose the problem and recommend the best course of action.
  • Inspection: The HVAC technician will begin by inspecting your heater to identify the source of the problem. This may involve checking the gas or electric supply, the thermostat, the pilot light, the heating elements, and the air ducts.
  • Diagnosis: Once the HVAC technician has identified the problem, they will diagnose the cause of the problem. This may involve checking for loose wires, faulty components, or blockages in the air ducts.
  • Repair: Once the HVAC technician has diagnosed the problem, they will begin the repair process. This may involve replacing faulty components, cleaning the air ducts, or adjusting the thermostat.
  • Testing: Once the repair is complete, the HVAC technician will test the heater to make sure it is working properly.
  • Cleaning: The HVAC technician will clean up any mess they make during the repair process.
  • The heater repair process can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days, depending on the severity of the problem. If you are experiencing an emergency, the HVAC technician may be able to come to your home right away.

I donโ€™t like writing negative reviews but this may be the only way to get a response from Armor Air. Two weeks ago I spent over $12K for a new heat pump. Adding a heat pump qualified me for a tax reduction for the year. However, I still havenโ€™t received any paperwork for the new unit. I called many times and asked for the warranty, manuals, and other paperwork needed. The only thing Iโ€™ve received is an invoice which does not suffice for what I need. I also informed them that the technicians did a poor job. The panel unit was installed upside down which made it unsecured. When I removed it I notice they didnโ€™t bother to put my filter back in and it was full of trash (parts from their work. See photo below). This trash/garbage could definitely cause a major problem if it got sucked into the unit. They also left the place very messy and dirty. If I was an elderly person or someone with no knowledge of what they did then I would definitely have problems down the road with their work. COME ON PEOPLE. HOW HARD IS IT TO GIVE GOOD SERVICE?!? Update: I am changing my review to positive because the owner (Jamie) reached out to me personally and assured me that he would take care of my issues. He even followed up our initial phone call with another one to make sure I received what I was needing. If the owner can take the time to ensure customer satisfaction, then I think this company deserves another review. 2nd Update: As luck would have it, my blower went out on my furnace. Freddie came that day a diagnosed the problem. Being a Friday they had to order the blower and couldnโ€™t install it until Monday. They actually came early and installed the new one, replaced my thermostat with a newer more advanced one I had before , cleaned up and weโ€™re on their way. A supervisor (Dave) also stopped by and answered all my questions and I noticed he was working well with Freddie in repairing the furnace. Very happy with the job and price. Update #3 My furnace went out Monday. I called Armor Air to look at it. Being that it was more than 20 yrs old and things were starting to go on it I decided to get a new one. Freddie (one of the best) came by that same day and after consulting with the workers, who were very skilled, came up with 6 different options for me. He didnโ€™t try to upsell me on anything and even recommended a lower priced model since Iโ€™m using the hybrid system. He said heโ€™d have it replaced the next day. Sean showed up early Tuesday morning and installed a new one and took the old one away. During his installation he noticed a leak from above the furnace coming from my toilet. He called the home office and they sent a plumber (Ryan) right out to fix that problem. Afterwards Sean went over everything I needed to know about my new unit and even gave me some pointers on how to make it more efficient. A+ to these guys!
